Many times when I talk to my parents and say "Eat an Apple" they say "Oh it has sugar in it.". That is not the right thing to look at as all sugar is not the same. Did you know that ?
In general, for better health you should not eat processed foods which basically means anything that comes out of a factory. You should eat whole, natural foods. They are better for you.
The same goes for sugar. Modern table sugar is extremely extremely processed, often added into furthermore processed foods such as baked goods.

How can we compare that to the sugar in an apple ?
If you like sweet in your coffee or tea, try Palm Jaggery, which is palm tree sap, boiled and hardened, a lot less processed than table sugar. I actually like the taste in tea as well.
Also, you need to be aware that fructose(fruit sugar) is different than sucrose (table sugar).
Next time some says avoid sugar please realize everything you eat will turn to glucose in your body. What you should not do is cut out natural sources of vitamins and minerals which include all fruits and vegetables. That will not be good for your health.
